Bio
Christina Foard was born in Florida within a navy family and her earliest years involved moving around the coastal US twice per year. After her parents divorced, her mother and sisters settled in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon receiving a BFA from the University of Cincinnati, she relocated to the Washington DC area and worked as a graphic designer and program manager in non-profit and communications firms while building a family. Foard relocates her family to Jacksonville, FL in 2004, shifting her focus on the arts. She served as Public Programs Manager at the Cummer Museum, then later directed the Arts in Medicine program at UF Medical Center. During her years in Jacksonville, Foard began to paint again, developing a committed, daily studio practice while navigating the demands of single-parenting. In 2014, she and her new partner relocated their family to Athens, GA, and Foard began a full-time studio practice. For the first time, she was able to apply to a residency and attended Vermont Studio Center in Feb, 2017. Foard received her MFA at the University of Georgia in 2020, serves as painting instructor at Dodd School of Art at UGA periodically, and paints in her Athens,Georgia studio daily.
Foard’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and has been acquired by major corporations, hospitals, the Cummmer Museum of Art and Gardens, and private collections throughout the US.
